February 2025 Healthy News from Medical Spine and Sports Injury and Rehab Centers Chiropractic Identity, Exercise, Attire

A recent study by Leduc in January 2025 concluded that what we chiropractors wear impacts our patients’ perception of us, including your Baton Rouge chiropractor at Medical Spine and Sports Injury and Rehab Centers. Good to know! Scrubs create a more knowledgeable, competent, professional, comfortable, trustworthy look for us. White coats and formal wear came second overall. For women chiropractors, the white coat was more affirmative for them than when worn by men. (1) Interestingly, this clothing issue doesn’t just concern chiropractors. A study in Saudi Arabia found that patients preferred surgeons who wore scrubs and white coats, associating them with hygiene, dedication, and expertise. (2) Beyond their attire, chiropractors are working to refine their professional identity to better interact other healthcare colleagues who – according to other articles like the surgeon attire one – also work to refine their image and identity for their patients and collegial interactions. (3) One paper boldly determined that “although the chiropractic profession may debate internally about its professional identity, the chiropractic identity seems to have already been established by society, practice, legislation, and education as a profession of health care providers whose area of expertise is spine care.” (4) Starting with spine care works for Medical Spine and Sports Injury and Rehab Centers! We know through experience that spine pain relief leads to our patients’ trusting us with other health issues. Bring on your Baton Rouge back pain and neck pain! We’ll wear our best scrubs, clothes and/or white coats! Together, let’s work on getting you feeling better!
